Philmont Guidance Center is a Mental Health private practice dedicated to helping children, adolescents, families, adults and couples. Our board certified psychiatrists, licensed psychologists and social workers are well known throughout the Philadelphia area as warm, compassionate professionals who are pioneers in goal-directed, practical therapeutic approaches.

An effort is made to keep fees for psychological services moderate and affordable. Fees are usually limited to a modest co-pay. Philmont Guidance Center accepts most insurance plans, including HMOs.

Philmont Guidance Center attempts to schedule appointments promptly. Patients need to call the office nearest their home or place of employment.

Philmont Guidance Center offers treatment for a full range of emotional and behavioral disorders including:

• Treatment for anxiety, depression and eating disorders
• Experties in the diagnosis and treament of ADHD and Pediatric Bipolar Disorder
• Services for developmental delays and learning disorders
• Treatment for school refusal, anger management difficulties and conduct problems
• Parenting skills training
• Medication evaluations and medication management
• Marriage and pre-marital counseling
• Communication training skills
• Stress management

The treatment plan will be individually tailored to your needs by your therapist. Our therapists are highly trained to address you needs, and are experienced in goal-directed and solution oriented therapies. While individual outcomes may vary, depending on diagnosis and circumstance, the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other goal-oriented approaches often provide quick and long lasting results for may of our patients.

Philmont Guidance Center is privileged to have therapists who are fluent in Spanish, German, Hebrew and French.

Philmont Guidance Center has certified school psychologists on staff who are available to provide you with formal psycho-educational testing. Testing often enhances the ability of school administrators, teachers, and parents who wish to develop comprehensive and individualized educational and/or psychotherpeutic programs for children needing extra support.

While such testing is often not covered by insurance, Philmont Guidance Center attempts to keep fees affordable. A written report is provided for parents and school personnel and the examining psychologist is available to meet with your educational team, if requested. Testing is completed in a timely fashion.

Philmont Guidance Center is comprised of a diverse group of professionals with a wide range of experience and expertise. We can be utilized as an educational or treatment resource.
